DESCRIPTION
This main purpose of this COIL was that students from UDD’s Journalism Program and students from London College of Communication’s Virtual Reality Program could work collaboratively on the development of an immersive visual narrative. The focus was on investigation, production and audiovisual record from non-fictional stories. For this, they had to use the tools given by the documentary-journalism genre and its respective representation and implementation through VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) technologies. This material will be available through different platforms that allow their dissemination in Chile and England.
The aim of this project was to identify and represent stories based on memory reconstruction from places with sociocultural value (Persa Bio-Bio, Chile), and its counterpart from Brixton Market in England. These two places were investigated and recorded by UDD and LCC students through the use of immersive technologies (360° camera), allowing users to visit, walk, know and give value to these places by accessing stories, testimonial and anecdotes that encourage a deeper comprehension of the territory.
