This interesting COIL course, conducted by UDD students in collaboration with Colombian students from the University of Rosario in Bogotá, focused on the cultural resource as a subtle power to establish favorable foundations for negotiation in the economic and political realms. Organized into interdisciplinary and intercultural groups, students analyzed museums in both countries, assuming that museums are institutions that reflect part of the history of their respective countries through their curatorial discourses and exhibitions. They conducted comparative analyses between museums such as the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, the National Historical Museum, and the Gold Museum. The works focused on the Museum of Memory and Human Rights (Chile) and the House of Memory Museum (Colombia), developing interesting counterpoints regarding acts of violence and human rights violations in both countries.
