This course had as its focus to recognize, in a short period of time, the electrocardiographic rhythm and at the same time comprehend signs and symptoms of hemodynamic instability.This is the main base to determine the immediate treatment of a patient for a bradycardia, tachycardia, and the most severe of all, cardiopulmonary arrest. We add the knowledge of administering electric therapy for each case, defibrillation, cardioversion, external pacemaker and the fundamentals of pharmacology. For all of this, the course’s contents and competences become of vital importance for an updated, prompt and competent care.
This COIL course also included the identification of a patient with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), the wall of the heart that has been compromised and the proposed treatment for the American Heart Association.
