The COIL course conducted by UDD students in collaboration with students from the University of Mendoza aimed to explore the concepts of absence and presence in historical and heritage architecture, using cases from the cities of Concepción in Chile and Río Cuarto in Argentina.
Students formed groups with their Argentinian peers and developed an exhibition and audiovisual project that explored the absence and presence of architecture through various thematic cases: public spaces, education, hotels, religious architecture, housing, industry, railways, and theaters. Based on these thematic axes, students from both countries selected cases, gathered information, and created visual materials. All of this work led to the creation of a series of videos that showcased both Argentinian and Chilean cases, comparing and/or highlighting similarities between each selected work.
